GSHW
Member Spotlight Guidelines

The Garden State Horror Writers has introduced a new means of recognizing the accomplishments of our membership -- the Member Spotlight.  By featuring a member both in the newsletter and on the website, we hope to express our pride in our members, provide publicity for the member's upcoming works and familiarize both member and non-member alike with the name and history of the individuals of this group.

Since September 2002, one member has been chosen each quarter. We print in the Member Spotlight forum that member's bio, photo, a bibliography, a link to their website, and information about their upcoming works.  This info will appear once in that quarter in an issue of our New Jersey Graveline newsletter, and will be posted for the three-month duration of that quarter on the GSHW website.  After the three months has passed, the member info may be archived indefinitely, unless the author should request for some reason it be taken down.  In matters of timeliness, the order in which accepted members will appear is at the sole discretion of the board and its committees, but will be handled generally on a first come, first serve basis.

Criteria for participating in the program is as follows:

1)      You must be an active or associate member in good standing with the GSHW

2)      You must be currently actively involved in at least some way in the art and/or business of writing and/or horror.  This includes, but is not limited to, authors, artists, editors, illustrators, agents, publishers, filmmakers, screenwriters, etc.

3)      It is preferred, but not necessary, that contributors have, in any format, at least one recently released work (within the last six months), OR a work pending release. These do not have to be professional or even paying venues.

4)      It is also preferred that contributors have at least one credit for a work released during the past course of their careers, any format or medium.  It does not have to be a professional or even paying venue.

Please send all submissions to president Gary Frank at president@gshw.net.  Submissions will be reviewed by the board, the newsletter, and the webmaster.
