The GSSW is a multi-genre writers group catering to the needs of writers from all walks of life. We offer monthly meetings, critique groups, guideline and sample copy libraries, national short story contests, and much more. Members also receive the acclaimed monthly newsletter, The New Jersey Graveline, containing market news, reviews, essays, interviews, writing tips, humor and whatever else we can fit inside. Critique Group: DOs & DON'Ts
Location: Old Bridge Public Library
(Secondary characters can turn a good story into a great one—enhancing and deepening the plot, main characters and atmosphere. Not to mention capturing readers' hearts all on their own. How do we write great secondary characters? Where do they fit into the big picture? And when do they warrant a spin off of their own? The talk will discuss all the ways secondary characters work—and don't. )
